What will it take?
You will assist the mechanic to position, align, and fit together construction
components to complete the installation of systems and work assigned in a timely and quality fashion.
You will assist a Sheet Metal Mechanic, Plumber or Pipefitter in this role. Great entry level position to
learn the trade!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Holds, positions, and reads tape to assist in layout.
- Places and moves equipment and materials.
- Positions and turns clamps; screws, bolts, and hammers parts together; uses tools and
equipment properly and only if certified (as required). - Transports and furnishes mechanic with materials, tools, and supplies.
- Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment; ensures that tools, equipment, and
materials are stored properly and securely. - Performs other routine duties.
- Complies with company policies and procedures, especially safety rules.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Less than high school education; or one month related experience or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to
perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral
instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
